Registered nurses is a profession related to health providing services and the job revolves around treating patients, educating  patients and the public about various medical conditions, and provide emotional support to patient and the patients family members. The job of a registered nurse is a responsible one and they need to be very caring towards the patients, the advance services provided by the registered nurse may include contributing to the existing care plan of the patients and also help to develop the existing plan that may be administering medication, including checking the medial dosages and maintaining, medication, blood, and blood products records, administer the various therapies and treatments given to the patient and maintain its record, observing the patient and recording the observations done on the patient, continuously monitor the patients’ health condition and report it to the doctor from time to time specially in case of emergencies,

The education requirements of the registered nurse job basically depend on the personal goals associated with the professional to start nursing career with an associate degree, or a diploma that is a three-year program offered by a hospital or a bachelor’s degree.  A graduate of a nursing program must pass a national licensing exam, and fulfil the state requirements, to practice. How to Become a Registered Nurse

Basic Education

Registered nurses require a higher level of training and are distinguishable from other classes of nurse by that. The first requirement is a high school diploma or GED. Advanced Education

2. An associate degree in nursing (ADN), or a diploma, it may take approximately 3 years to complete and the training is administered in many major hospitals

4. The BSN programs, it is a 4 year program that is offered by colleges and universities, the BSN program is ideal to prepare the students for a broader scope of nursing practice.

Pass the NCLEX-RN exam

This is a national licensing examination, known as the NCLEX-RN that the students have to pass to enter the field and in order to obtain a registered nursing license.These examinations are designed to test the knowledge, skills and abilities essential to the safe and effective practice of nursing at the entry-level.  The NCLEX-RN exam is developed and administered by the National Council of State Boards of Nursing and is accepted by every state and is a minimum competency for a new graduate.

Registered nurse salary

Registered nurses are the largest occupation in the healthcare industry. The placements of the post are estimated 2.6 million the salary of a job is based on many criteria’s some of them are the educational qualification of the candidate, the work experience as a registered, the placement, and the need and availability of the registered nurse in the area of appointed.

A bachelor’s degree, associate degree or a nursing diploma is required to become a Registered nurse but to become an advance nurse a master’s degree is required. Advanced degree nurses earn more than bachelor’s degree nurses. It takes four years to complete a Bachelor’s of Science Degree in Nursing and an Advanced Degree in Nursing requires two to three years to come to completion and is done only after completing the bachelor’s degree and a hospital diploma programs take three years. And the candidates who have done the advanced nursing degree are in demand and are paid a higher amount of salary.

According to a standard survey done in the year 2008, there are about 2.6 million registered nurse jobs among which 60% are employed in hospitals and are paid a $63,000 approximately and about 18% are employed as private physician and are paid an average salary of$ 60,000 annually and about 5 % are appointed to provide the service of home health care and in private health care services each, both of the fields earn an average salary of $57,000 and $55,000 respectively.Employment services hired the other 12% there salary varies and depends on the nature of the work and the salary ranges from between $25,000 to $35,000.

The salary of a registered nurse also depends on the need and availability of the job and the location of the job also plays an important role. The areas that pay the higher amount of salary have the demand and the need of the registered nurses and the salary of registered nurse varies on the availability of the jobs. Like generally in California the registered nurses are paid a higher amount of salary and it comes to $85,000 annually on an average, and then next in the range is Massachusetts that pays an average salary of $84,000. New York pays $74,000. Texas is next with $68,000. Pennsylvania and Florida pay $65,000 and $60,000 respectively. South Dakota, Mississippi and Kentucky pay the least amount of $55,000, $57,000 and $56,000 respectively.
