American association of nurse anaesthetists

The American association of nurse anaesthetists was founded in the year 1931, this is professional association for more than 38,000 Certified Registered Nurse Anaesthetists and student nurse anaesthetists and there are advanced practice nurses who are the hands-on providers of 30 million anaesthetics given in the United States each year. The American association of nurse anaesthetists was established to administer every type of aesthetic, and develop the student’s ability to work in every type of practice setting, and provide care for every type of surgery or procedure, from open heart to cataract to pain management.

TheCertified Registered Nurse Anaesthetists from the American Association of Nurse Anaesthetistsare recognised nationwide it promulgates education, and practice standards and guidelines, and affords consultation to both private and governmental entities regarding nurse anaesthetists and their practice and are responsible for the development and certification of the nurse anaesthetist, it was also founded to support the profession by awarding education and research grants to students, faculty and practicing nurse anaesthetists.

The AANA founded in 1931 and was developed and implemented a certification program in 1945 and instituted a recertification program in 1978. It established a mechanism for accreditation of nurse aesthesia educational programs in 1952 that was recognised by the U.S. Department of Education since 1955. After which the AANA was a leader among professional organizations in the United States by forming autonomous and multidisciplinary councils with public representation for performing the profession’s certification, and now , the CRNA credential are among the well-recognisedfor its certification and its quality and competence in services it provides.

The AANP has Vision Statement of Recognized leaders in aesthesia care and has a Mission Statement that is designed to efficiently provide the training for Advancing patient safety and excellence in aesthesia with the Core Values of Integrity, professionalism, advocacy and quality. The basic motto of the AANA is “Supporting our members, protecting our patients”.

There are Annual Meeting organised at the American Association of Nurse Anaesthetists that is designed to update and expand the practitioner’s knowledge in the medical, nursing, and sociopsychological sciences related to nurse aesthesia.
