Nursing anaesthetist

Nursing Anaesthetists are specially trained registered nurses who administer anaesthetics to patients undergoing medical, dental, and obstetrical procedures. They are an important member of the surgical team, and usually work under the direction of the surgeon, anaesthesiologist or dentists. The job of the nursing anaesthetist is considered one of the important service providers in the medical field and is highly responsible as the nurse anaesthetist job is mainly working in the operation theatres of the hospitals.

The nurse anaesthetist’s job is highly responsible and some of the duties are preparing for the  procedures, studying and interpreting pre-surgical tests to determine the dosage of anaesthesia for patients, and administering the prescribed aesthetic, nurse anaesthetists are trained to monitor the patient’s vital signs and communicate the information to the in charge surgeons. They also provide medical procedures, such as artificial oxygen, they may also explain the procedures to patients to secure cooperation and increase confidence in the procedure.

The position of nurse anaesthetist comes with an extraordinary amount of responsibility, and is one of the highest paid nursing specialties. Anyone interested in this specialty of nursing should be intelligent, able to solve problems and able to handle stress and handle emergency situations the individuals must possess the advance nursing skills and knowledge of the techniques of anaesthesia To become a certified nurse anaesthetist the candidates need to prepare for a Master’s Degree in Nurse Anaesthesia

Nursing Anaesthetists have been practicing in the medical field for over the last 150 years. It is one of the first specialisations in modern medicine. It is also one of the more difficult degrees to achieve. The candidates require completing bachelor’s degree in Nursing, and along with this they require to in INU for about a year. After completing this, the candidate is eligible to apply to an accredited anaesthesia program generally the programs take two to three years to complete. Then the candidate requires applying for a master’s degree in Anaesthesia.

Nursing Anaesthetists work in a hospital operating room, the candidate requires skills and knowledge of anaestheticsthey work in birthing centres obstetrics departments,  emergency rooms, plastic surgery centres, and outpatient surgery facilities dental clinics, and in the various surgical processes.According to the Department of Labour, nursing is the largest health care related occupation in the country the nursing anaesthetists have a nation-wide shortage. Employment opportunities for nursing anaesthetistare excellent and are expected to grow 25%-40% by the end of the decade.
